Choosing a 195V to 208V transformer
Some services simply run low, all day, every day. 195 volts on a nominal 208 volt system falls below the ANSI C84.1 Range A service minimum of 197 volts, which puts it in Range B, the band the standard treats as infrequent and limited in extent rather than normal. A 195V to 208V buck-boost transformer restores roughly 6.7 percent and brings the facility back to nominal. Unlike a voltage-drop problem inside the building, this shortfall arrives at the meter, so the correction usually belongs at the panel. Single-phase and three-phase, 10 through 60 amps.
